What you actually control

All but Tab come from the game’s instructions, not from the screen.
Minute by minute
Minute 1. The game drops you straight onto a two-lane road beside a railway line. Drive.
Minute 2. Look at the top left corner. A task appears with a counter. Ours read “Destroy metal objects, 0 / 10”.
Minute 3. Stay near the start. The first stretch has two tall poles on the left verge and a row of railway signals on the right.
Minutes 4 and 5. Press C for the view from the driver’s seat and N for the other car. We saw a white saloon and a red boxy one.
The mistake that ends first runs
Driving off into the countryside. We went across the grass, straight at trees and past a round stone tower, and none of it moved the counter. The scenery is not the target. The poles and signals by the road were the only man-made things near the start, and we left them behind.
Good to know
- Expect ad breaks early. The game stopped twice in our first two minutes, and a Continue playing button brought the road back.
- One on-screen button has an F over it. We did not press it and cannot tell you what it does.
Skip it if
Tasks annoy you. Car Smash Simulator just hands you a map.
