What you actually control
| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| Drag left or right | Steers across the lanes |
| Nothing | The gunner fires on its own |
| Orange button, bottom left | Pause, with resume and restart |
| Cart button on the results screen | Opens the garage |
Minute by minute
Minute 1. Press the red play button twice: once to pass the garage, once to start the road.
Minute 2. Line up behind a car and stay there. An orange bar under each enemy drops as your shots land.
Minute 3. Check your own bar, next to the heart in the top left. When it is empty the run is over.
Minutes 4 and 5. On the results screen, press the cart and buy a first upgrade. The first cards cost 150 cash and each has ten levels.
The mistake that ends first runs
Chasing kills. The results screen pays one cash for every 10 metres and one for every car shot down. Our longest run destroyed only eight cars and still paid 236, almost all of it distance. Stay alive first, shoot second.
Good to know
- Your fire only goes straight up the lane. Sliding sideways to chase a car puts you in front of whatever is coming there.
- The pause button sits close to where the car drives. We hit it by accident more than once.
- A long orange tanker takes far more hits than a car. Go round it.
Skip it if
You wanted to aim. Without the gun, the same lane-reading is in Traffic Racer 3D.
That is the short version. The long one, with every screen we saw and the questions people ask about it, is in our Road Fury review.
